We are so excited to share that Friday morning, April 15th at 6am, Cooper Chess Owens was born! He’s beautiful and perfect! He weighed 8 pounds and 3 ounces and was 20.5 inches long!
Around 11:00pm on Thursday night, we headed to the hospital. Thinking it might be a false alarm, we were shocked when Lindsey went from 2 centimeters to 10 centimeters of dilation in just 3 hours! Around 3:30am she started pushing, but by 5:30am Cooper hadn’t budged at all. We wanted a natural birth, but now our doctor was saying that, for his safety, we needed to have a C-section. We told God that we trusted Him to take care of both Lindsey and Cooper, and then told our doctor to do the C-section.
The nurses left the room and the birthing table quickly converted to an operating table. But suddenly, Lindsey felt like something had changed. When our doctor checked, she said nothing to us, she just yelled, “Birth team, get in here NOW!”
And 3 minutes later (that’s not an exaggeration), this handsome guy changed our lives forever.
We praise God for being with us every step of the way. He has been so good to us, and we are so thankfully that we’re now a family of 3. Thank you for all of your prayers over these last few months.
We’re going to be taking a bit of a break from our weekly emails to focus on our baby boy and our family. We can’t wait to share more about Cooper in the future, but until then please know how grateful we are for each and every one of you! We can’t wait for you all to meet Coop face-to-face one day soon!
